  2. A great moment to have been alive!
    I only regret that the United States refused to assist those Eastern European countries and fully support their hard fought freedom.
    Those countries and their peoples deserved all the socioeconomic support we certainly had the capacity to provide.
    The end of the Cold War was not a victory for capitalism.
    It was a victory for freedom and humanity.
